Pinecrest

Incorporated in 1992, the village of Pinecrest has long been a thriving community in the Miami area. It was a popular tourist draw in the 1930s, after Parrot Jungle, an attraction featuring a meandering nature trail and free-flying parrots of every variety, opened to the public. The Miami Serpentarium added to the draw for nature-seeking tourists until the 1980s. Today’s Pinecrest is still a haven for nature-lovers, with several beautiful parks, including Pinecrest Gardens, a public park built on the former site of Parrot Jungle, and the Montgomery Botanical Gardens located on the outskirts of the village.

The village features varied types of real estate, from early ranch-style homes on one acre lots to dramatic estates featuring nine bedrooms or more. Located just minutes away from Coral Gables, the Shops at Merrick Park and the University of Miami, there’s plenty to see and do. Boating enthusiasts can find refuge at the nearby Matheson Hammock Park and Marina and golfers don’t need to travel far to enjoy a round of golf at Biltmore Golf Course.
